MISSION

In concluding this short history of the Sovereign Order, it should be recalled that several times in centuries past, when the future of the Church and the survival of the Christian West were in grave danger, the intervention of Almighty God, through His angels and great saints, enabled the Knights of Saint John to perform miraculous feats.  With this in mind, the future efforts of the Order may be as vital and dramatic as were its achievements in antiquity.

Therefore, in these critical times when Christianity is everywhere under assault, when Christ himself is being blasphemed, when the family is under attack and all morality is being undermined, when all that is beautiful and cultural is being replaced by that which is ugly and vulgar, when evil and vice are extolled while virtue and godliness are ridiculed, when the Church is undergoing destruction from internal conspiracy and external assault, and when Western Civilization is constantly and purposefully demeaned, and its very existence is threatened - the holy and venerable Order of Saint John, accepting the challenge for which it was created and the mission to which it is called, continues to defend with nobility and valor the Catholic Faith and Christendom.
